Indigenous Genders and Sexuality
My pronouns are shit” captures the essence of this phenomenal panel that dissects the multifaceted connections between Blackness, class, gender, and sexuality. The panelists engage in a conversation about navigating the intersections of the colonial construction of gender, and how that impacted how they theorize and resist western dichotomies of gender. One speaker proposes the pronoun shit, to think about the impact of colonial constructions of gender that continue to be reinforced, and rather pushes people to take accountability for their own investments in imposing gender colonial regimes. This panel proposes a radical way to think beyond the binary.
