An important part of Silent Majority, Ghana's work is boosting the efforts of queer activist organizations in Ghana, extending our relationship with organizers and supporting their anti-colonial efforts for queer freedom. To that end, SMG maintains connections with Ghanaian queer activists, connecting them with our transnational membership and broad networks, and identifying strategies for collaboration towards our shared goals.
Understanding that queer freedom is a not a nationalist project, we are also invested in building relationships with artists, activists, and scholars on the African continent, and around the world. To date, we have collaborated with individuals and organizations in Ghana, Uganda, Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
Some Ghanaian organizations with whom we have collaborated include:
Alliance for Dynamics Initiative, an advocacy group for trans Ghanaians
Alliance for Equality and Diversity (AfEd), a national coalition of LGBT+ advocacy groups
Courageous Sisters, an advocacy group for lesbian and queer Ghanaian women.
Key Watch Ghana, an advocacy group for intersex Ghanaians
One Love Sisters, an advocacy group for queer and gender nonconforming Muslims.
